Sharing EcoTrade with VET Communities

The Erasmus+ project Co-Create EcoTrade: Collaborative Learning for Sustainable VET Education reached an important dissemination stage through its multiplier events, where partners presented the final results of the project and introduced the EcoTrade educational board game to wider audiences.

The multiplier events were organised to share the project outcomes with VET trainers, learners, educators, local stakeholders, professionals and community members. These events gave participants the opportunity to discover how EcoTrade can be used as an innovative learning tool for teaching international trade, sustainable transport, logistics, decision-making, environmental impact and green skills.

Presenting EcoTrade as an educational board game

During the events, participants were introduced to the main project results, including the board game components, Rulebook, Trainer’s Guide, how-to-play video and digital Tabletopia version. The partners explained how the game works and how it can be integrated into vocational education and training.

EcoTrade invites players to take the role of companies managing shipments across Europe. Through gameplay, learners must choose means of transport, complete shipments, respond to unexpected events, invest in company development and balance economic growth with environmental sustainability.

This practical format helped participants understand how complex topics can be transformed into an engaging learning experience.

EcoTrade Multiplier Event in Spain

In Spain, ITM Miranda hosted an open multiplier event and official launch of the EcoTrade board game on 19 February 2026. The event brought together VET students, teachers, trainers, professionals from local logistics companies and representatives from the Miranda City Council. Participants had the chance to see the final materials and play the game directly.

The event created an important opportunity to connect the game with real vocational and professional contexts. By involving students, educators and local stakeholders, the Spanish multiplier event showed how EcoTrade can support both classroom learning and dialogue with the professional logistics sector.

EcoTrade Multiplier Event in Greece

In Greece, Dracon Rules Design Studio presented EcoTrade during a multiplier event hosted at the Σχολή Επαγγελματικής Κατάρτισης (SAEK) on 24 February 2026. The event targeted VET trainers, learners, educators and local stakeholders. Participants explored how the board game teaches sustainable transport, logistics, decision-making and environmental impact through interactive gameplay.

A particularly valuable part of the Greek event was the connection with different vocational fields. Together with participants, Dracon explored how EcoTrade mechanics could be adapted to real professional scenarios, such as healthcare transport requiring prioritisation and time-sensitive deliveries, as well as production and distribution contexts such as furniture logistics.

This showed that EcoTrade is not limited to one subject area, but can be adapted across different VET sectors where planning, transport, responsibility and sustainability are relevant.

Dissemination in Italy

In Italy, Training 2000 presented the EcoTrade project during a roundtable focused on “Adolescence and the role of the community in inland villages”, organised in collaboration with more than 50 local stakeholders, VET trainers and educators. Training 2000 used this opportunity to present EcoTrade as a concrete tool for youth empowerment and sustainable education.

The Italian dissemination activity highlighted how game-based learning can support smaller inland communities by making educational activities more engaging and by helping young people approach complex topics such as the green economy and sustainable logistics.

Why multiplier events matter

The multiplier events played a key role in making EcoTrade visible beyond the project partnership. They allowed the partners to:

  • present the final EcoTrade board game and educational materials;
  • demonstrate how the game can be used in VET classrooms;
  • collect impressions and feedback from educators, learners and stakeholders;
  • connect the game with real vocational contexts;
  • promote sustainability awareness and green skills;
  • encourage the wider use of game-based learning in education.

These events also strengthened the project’s impact by reaching people who can use, adapt or promote the EcoTrade resources in their own institutions and communities.

Learning through experience

Across the multiplier events, one message was clear: when learners play, discuss and make decisions, learning becomes more active and meaningful. EcoTrade helps students understand that trade and logistics involve choices, consequences and responsibility.

By using board game mechanics, EcoTrade supports practical learning, teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking. It also helps educators introduce sustainability in a way that is concrete, visual and engaging.

The multiplier events confirmed the value of EcoTrade as a flexible educational tool for VET. They also showed the strong potential of board games to support innovation, inclusion and sustainability in vocational education.

Through these events, the EcoTrade partnership shared not only a game, but a new way of learning: learning through experience, collaboration and play.
