Over four dynamic days in the heart of Karditsa, Greece, our team hosted the first Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA) of the EcoTrade Erasmus+ KA210-VET project - a milestone gathering that turned ideas into action! 🌍
🎯 The goal? To collaboratively design an educational board game that brings international trade, sustainability, and eco-conscious decision-making to life for VET students across Europe.
Throughout these inspiring working days, participants from Spain, Greece, and Italy joined forces to blend creativity with educational innovation. The sessions focused on key thematic areas and hands-on activities designed to spark collaboration, critical thinking, and sustainability-driven learning.
🌱 What We Explored
💼 Sustainable production and green logistics
🎯 Game-based learning methodologies in VET education
♻️ Ecological trade decisions and low-carbon transport
🎲 Designing game mechanics for interactive learning
🧩 Prototyping cards, boards, and player roles
💬 Exchanging feedback, testing, and refining ideas in real time
The co-creation process empowered trainers, educators, and project designers to develop not only the EcoTrade prototype, but also a shared understanding of how playful learning can shape environmental awareness and global citizenship.
The atmosphere was one of collaboration, creativity, and curiosity - every idea added a new dimension to the emerging EcoTrade game, which will soon help learners explore sustainable trade systems, supply chains, and circular economy concepts through interactive play.
🏛️ Cultural Moments
The experience was not all work! Participants had the chance to immerse themselves in Greek culture and heritage.
- 🌄 A memorable excursion to Meteora, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, offered breathtaking views and moments of reflection amid nature.
- 🍽️ A traditional dinner in Xinoneri, a picturesque Thessalian village, brought everyone together over local cuisine and warm hospitality - reminding us of the power of community and shared values.
💡 What’s Next?
As the EcoTrade board game takes shape, the next step is testing and refinement — bringing the prototype into VET classrooms and training environments across Europe. The upcoming activities will gather real feedback from educators and students, ensuring that the final game becomes an impactful educational tool.
A huge thank you to all the passionate participants who brought their expertise, ideas, and enthusiasm to this co-creation journey. Together, we’re proving that learning sustainability can be both fun and transformative. 🙌
